Gerald O'Hara (1893-1944)
Ein irischer Seemann in der britischen Handelsmarine
Inschrift: In Memory of the able Seaman
Patrick Breen, S.S. Athelfoam, who died age 58 on 13 May
1943 in Farge, Son of Moses and Annie Breen of Wexford,
Republic of Ireland. Remembered with honour.
Gerald O'Hara aus Irland war als Seemann
in der britischen Handelsmarine beschäftigt. Nachdem
sein Schiff 1941 von der Deutschen Kriegsmarine aufgebracht
worden war, kam er schließlich in das Arbeitserziehungslager
Bremen-Farge.
Geralds Sohn Edward und dessen Sohn Eamon
begaben sich im Oktober 2006 auf eine Vortragsreise nach
Norddeutschland.
